How do I choose a Westinghouse ceiling fan?

Choosing the right ceiling fan for your space is very important in order to ensure the best possible performance and efficiency.

The Westinghouse company, world leader in the ceiling fan market, sets the basic framework for the right choice underlining two main parameters:

    The size of the room: depending on the square footage of the room, the correct fan size should be selected.
  • 2
    The height of the space: the ideal distance of the fan from the ceiling is achieved when the fan blade is at a minimum of 2.15m and a maximum of 2.5-2.80m. from the floor. In the case of a higher room, an extension tube (down rod), which is available from Westinghouse, should be installed.

For Mountain Gale, Urban Gale & Industrial models, the blade distance from the floor must be a minimum of 3.05 m.

Useful tips – information

  • Ceiling fans must be installed directly to the ceiling of the room. Any plaster rosettes or decorations should be removed.
  • It is not possible to install a ceiling fan on a plasterboard ceiling as it cannot be adequately and securely supported.
  • Ceiling fans cannot be operated with a dimmer. If your installation has a dimmer, you should first remove it and then install simple switch.
  • All models have reverse mode switch (winter mode).
  • All models can be installed with remote control (except 72154 & 72073) or wall control.
